5 days in BKK, 1 day MC

Finally have time to blog after my 5-day trip in BKK, and that's only because I'm on MC today. 1 word of advice: Don't ever hold your pee when you need to relieve yourself yah, else you'd suffer from the dreaded UTI like me. Symptoms include: frequent urge to visit the toilet (yes, i think my cols muz be wondering why i kept going to the toilet yesterday); pain while peeing; lower back ache; blood in urine; fever...

ok, enough of my embarrassing infection (was actually pondering if i sld reveal the reason for my MC, but seems like it's such a common ailment, esp for women, that I thought it'd be good for those who weren't aware about it).

anyway, back to my trip to BKK with ah ber. Well, all i can say is that it's a 95% shopping trip, 5% sightseeing at Grand Palace and Wat Pho (b4 we decided that sightseeing is boring.. haha!).

Literally a shop-till-you-drop crazy trip where no boyfriends are allowed. Fyi, i was already suffering from the UTI symptoms, so u can imagine me having to keep visiting the toilets. And i actually mistook my back aches to be caused by the shopping!

Anyway, I'm just too lazy to give a day-by-day detailed description of our trip, so here's a breakdown of the places we visited:

Day 1
- Check in at Samran Place Hotel
- Thai Massage at Paradise
- Peter Ranee Tailor (will never visit again!)
- MBK (dinner at Zen restaurant; short 'orientation shopping' for yx)
- Patpong Mkt (yup, that place where sleazy pubs with girls pole-dancing are located)

Day 2
- Sightseeing at Wat Pho and Grand Palace
- Khao San Road (backpacker's haven)
- Bamglamphu Mkt
- Chinatown Sampeng Lane (wholesale mkt for accessories!)
- Memorial Bridge Mkt (Sa Phan Put; a local mkt along Chao Phyra River)

Day 3
- Chatuchak Mkt (crazy place, when can I ever finish covering the whole mkt?)
- Lingerie shopping and dinner at Central Chidlom
- Foot massage at Golden Hand Massage

Day 4
- Platinum Fashion Mall (wholesale centre, a must go!)
- Pratunaam mkt; Indra Square; Baiyoke Garment Centre (wholesale again, super crowded)
- Back to Platinum Fashion Mall (gave up trying to shop at Pratunaam area)
- Dinner at KFC @ Pantip Plaza (their equivalent of our Sim Lim Square)
- Back in hotel where we had loads of fun trying the clothes we bought and doing some trading on our own.

Day 5
- Check out of hotel in the morning
- Last min shopping at MBK
- 1 last massage at Paradise
- Off to airport
- Home sweet home! (what a nice feeling to see mr Fox and my buddy yibs waiting for us at arrival hall!)

ok, and finally, some pics (will have more after ah ber uploads hers):

ah ber checking out our room at Samran Place
(a budget hotel, our room costs a mere $35 per nite!)

feeling refreshed after 1 hr of traditional thai massage at Paradise!

Waiting for our BTS ride at Ratchathewi station near our hotel.

me at Grand Palace

me & ah ber at Wat Pho

ah ber feeling so hungry after our sightseeing and shopping at Khao San Rd
that even the chilli padi looked good to her.

Taking a break at Chatuchak Mkt.

Pad Thai for lunch!

ah ber trying on her new dress. She bought so many that I lost count.
(we spent almost 2hrs trying on our loot and doing our own barter trade in our room!)

Oh dear... as expected. For the records, every lady is expected to have one UTI in her lifetime. Just like chicken pox. But no, you dun develop immunity to it. Btw, I heard cranberry juice helps. Drink it!
Will get the pics up asap!
